The members of the Delta Sigma Omega (DSO) Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® welcome you to our website.

We have been serving the Maryland Eastern Shore community since 1947. We are a group of diverse, talented and college educated women continuing a legacy of leadership excellence initiated by the founders of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®. The Delta Sigma Omega Chapter embraces the goals and objectives of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. We strive to support our community through our mission of enhancement as well as addressing the global initiatives which include: 

  • Education enrichment of students attending local elementary, middle and high schools
  • Personal fitness, healthy lifestyles and energy efficiency
  • Sustainable food practices which alleviate poverty and hunger 
  • Financial literacy & wealth building 
  • Social justice
  • Human rights, and
  • Assisting our community through various outreach efforts.

DSO In The Community

The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. ®️ Delta Sigma Omega Chapter partnered with Habitat for Humanity on Friday, April 21st to plant tree shrubs and flowers at one of Habitat for Humanity’s new homes. This is apart of the Enhance Our Environment Initiatives in recognitions of Earth Day.

On January 16th, 2023, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. ®️ Delta Sigma Omega Chapter gave donations to HALO which assists the homeless and those in need in the community. The donations collected today included toiletries, necessities, spices, canned foods, cleaning supplies, and classroom supplies.
